    Android TV Developer Kit

I got an Android TV Development Kit in the mail today. I'm hoping that the Qt SDK will allow me to make Android TV apps.

So my question to all of you is this:

What sort of apps would you like to see on a set-top box, if you could choose? I'm looking for ideas, in addition to those that I already have.
What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

Remote control TV from PC so that we can app develop an app that makes the TV do absolutely everything we want that takes a minute or more by fiddling with the bloody remote control and having to wade through the awful, clunky, intuitive and slow UI.

How about an app that admonishes the user to read a book

    O_o

The only thing I'd like to see in a STB is a quality context frame--HTML/whatever/not picky--that was built by someone with an actual understanding of interface design.

    Well, that doesn't already exist...

What I want is a "virtual viewer" selection, that will scan the whole film/episode or whatever and return messages like "Caution: watching this film will make you feel you have just wasted 2 hours of your life."
