A girl said me that her mother had been there and humidity was high. Another guy from Dubai, told me "weather is sunshine all day with 30 degrees celcius".

Wow, first Switzerland, and now AD. When are you coming to Australia?
I know someone from AD, and they say that due to the high humidity, you will be sweating ALL the time. But the wind is always blowing, and because AD is a desert with no trees to block the wind, the wind will dry the sweat and keep you cool. That is why the women can wear the long black clothing and not get hot, because the wind is always blowing into the clothing.
The fact that women wear those clothes was a question for me from when I was a kid.
My father flew there on Saturday, for business. I am not going to AD, the weather is far far better here in Greece. The money however, is a different story! haha
By the way, I went with my dad to the airport, in order to carry his main suitcase. He would fly with Etihad. We saw a guy that knew some Greek too, maybe an Australian that has Greek parents? He was telling us, how many flights he needs to get to go to Australia from Greece! Some years ago, when Olympic Airlines was operating, there was a direct flight from Greece to Aus. Now, that Olympic Airlines, became Olympic Air, this route is cut off. Moreover, my father told me, that when he is going for business in that part of the world, he often sees people that use Dubai, Doha, etc., in order to go to Aus. I also remember Australians from Switzerland, making a very looong trip in order to return home. :/

No, I haven't. But I live in the most isolated city in the world(Perth, Western Australia), so it takes me longer to get to anywhere. I can travel quicker to Asia than to the other side of Australia.Originally Posted by std10093

Wow. I am jealous. My wife wants to go there but I do not see it happening in the next ...oh...decade or so.
My father is back. He told me that this city is just fancy buildings of concrete. A concrete place he said. He also has been to Doha, Dubai, etc. and in fact, in almost all over the world.
Since he has seen so many places and countries, he takes us for holidays in what he thinks(and eventually, after travelling to his proposed destinations, we agree
You see, travelling is becoming better when you meet a different cultur, a different world!! I clearly remember, some Christmas holidays, when we were in Tunise, the country was "devided" to the north and south. The north was actually "modern" and very close to the European style. The south one was a different world, close to their traditions. The north one was just ok, while the other was very interesting! However, when travelling to places that are of a different culture and they have a completely different aspect from yours, you **must** be careful. Such places can be dangerous and the ideal thing is to book your travel with a group (the travel office will have a bus with your family and other people there and will perform the trip, based on the schedule). The travel office knows "what's happening" in the country you visit, will take you to safe places.. Of course, the group travelling has many drawbacks too.
For example, my mother and dad, where planning to fo to Maroco for holidays, but they couldn't finf a time period that would fit them. A travel office offered a trip to Cairio (we have been to Egypt, but not there), but my father says that it is not safe there. You must go where the political situation is relatively calm.
