    New Human-Computer Interaction Contest

There’s a new contest at Patexia on human-computer interaction and UI/UX with a $5000 prize I thought people might be interested in. You can also win $500 by referring the contest winner.

You can see more details here: User interface with "throw" gesture Contest | Patexia.com

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but some of those patents seem nearly impossible not to rely on when building such a system. The whole thing seemed pretty straight-forward until I got to that section. I guess that's why it pays $5000.

its saving patent lawyers fees for the client requesting the research - the website says you can earn money - and you should for undertaking mind numbing trawling research like that, but the only money i see offered is a contest prize - is there a fee earnable for a member of the website for just researching, picking up projects and contributing? per knowledge item offered and accepted? maybe i am reading it wrong

    Thought for the day:
"Are you sure your sanity chip is fully screwed in sir?" (Kryten)
FLTK: "The most fun you can have with your clothes on."

    Stroustrup:
"If I had thought of it and had some marketing sense every computer and just about any gadget would have had a little 'C++ Inside' sticker on it'"

Well, then I'm definitely out of this... I don't see too many people being able to complete this in eight days without having already spent a significant amount of time on the research. Also, what's with the absurd "All work must be prepared by a single researcher" restriction? Suppose you already have been working on a suitable patent but with a colleague? Will they not allow all contributors to be on the patent?
