I've been lurking on the forum for about week now after not being here for a quite a while, and it seems like at least general and tech boards are completely dead. What happened?

Nothing, nobody knows what to talk about.
Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted
- Albert Einstein.
No programming language is perfect. There is not even a single best language; there are only languages well suited or perhaps poorly suited for particular purposes.

I have also noticed that it has been very quiet lately.
I cannot speak for everyone else but I no longer program C++ professionally although still do in my free time. As well my life has changed and I have a five year old daughter that keeps me busy. I still frequent the board but I rarely chime in unless I deem it absolutely necessary. Perhaps it is a changing of the guard or perhaps its just the social landscape changing around the board. Whichever the case I am sure we are all still here but we probably do not have much to say. Many of us joined almost 10 or more years ago and have since matured (thus the lack of pointless arguments), moved on or have other more pressing concerns.
That why new people, like me join this superb forum

Code - functions and small libraries I use
It’s 2014 and I still use printf() for debugging.

Oh, in terms of coding you are correct, but of course I mean it

It's been a while since I saw a question that made me want to answer it... I feel like I've explained just about everything at least ten times now, so I'm waiting for something new.
I still post the occasional cryptic sarcastic comment though.
Code://try //{ if (a) do { f( b); } while(1); else do { f(!b); } while(1); //}
I'm just waiting for someone to use volatile in a MT context.

I've also noticed the tumbleweeds.
Maybe Elysia and Mario are on holiday.
What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?
I'm still around. Just dealing with a new life as a high school teacher. Like Bubba, I'm moving -- and being moved -- away from coding as a professional programmer.

The last few times I have poked around on here, I have noticed it seems to have less things going on (I could be totally wrong on that account). I have a new hobby these days, and it has nothing to do with programming, so this board does not see much of me at all.
