scanner lide 30 cannon - driver win 7

My driver for this scanner is supported until windows xp.... In win 7 it simply not going to be installed... And the scanner without the driver is useless for this pc(right..?). I searched the site and emailed them (did not get an answer back (!!!)).

    Now what? :/ :/
Code - functions and small libraries I use

It’s 2014 and I still use printf() for debugging.

It looks like your scanner is discontinued.
You could buy a new scanner, or if this is your home computer upgrade your OS to one that still supports it.

The link needs an emergency CSS improvement :P

So you mean to downgrade again in windows XP for example? Or to change the OS for a scanner? That is totally not ok with me.
It is not logical that they won't provide a solution for this issue!

Quite logical, actually, from a greedy financial point of view.

I'd wager that a Linux distro would recognise it.

If you really wanted to, you could find the open source Linux driver for your scanner, and hack it about a bit to produce a Win7 driver you could install.

Or has win7 crawled sufficiently up it's own arse that it's no longer possible to install a driver that hasn't been blessed (signed) by M$ themselves?

Try installing drivers in compatibility mode.
Or virtual machine with usb "passthrough".

No it didn't... It has the mark of the company all over the image... When I try to output a pdf, it will scan only 10% of what I am trying to scan... Thanks for the try though!

    Take a look..

The same article mentions you can create a boot cd with ubuntu 10.10 to access it. i.e. you don't need to install.

Should be fairly straightforward, and a boot disc can be handy to have.

No damn way... There are 3 computers (or 4) at my place that run on XP right now, so for now, I can operate on the other machines, but not in my pc... So they are often operated by their owners and (.. you get the point).

I do not have linux on my pc gemera. So I can not do what you are telling I guess...

These are solutions; they are trivial. (Well, one solution Salem offered isn't trivial, but he is a silly, silly man.)

    [Edit]
Or woman. Or dog. Or robot from the future bent on destroying mankind. Whatever. I don't judge.
    [/Edit]

If you don't want to deal with them that's fine, but I think it is shameful, considering your history here, that you are clearly not taking the few minutes it would take to look into the solutions you've been offered.
