To let a high school student to see how coding is, you can make some people not following the wrong track in university (I would say).

It’s 2013 and I still use printf() for debugging.
And as a good software engineer I know said: I think any student making a career choice, irrespective of the career, should get some internship experience early on so they can decide if it's the right industry for them.
