Hi folks,
New to the community--just a quick hello and about.me
Learning C (self-study) and programming techniques. I'm a freelance writer, and the end goal here is to code professionally. Researching opinions and discussions reveals that a good path seems to be learning C, as it requires discipline and a deeper understanding of how things actually "work" in the computer as far as memory and data.
My plan is to study software engineering concepts once I have a language I can play around with, then perhaps branch into C++ or one of the other object-oriented languages. I'm using several books, but I'll refrain from listing them unless someone really wants to know.
I'm a person who likes to solve problems and understand things on my own, so (hopefully) you won't see many questions from me.
