What kind of coding will i do in my job?

We are being taught how to make various kinds of programs, logic and stuff like that in c and c++. Various types data structures and what not. But i can't figure out as to what will we exactly have to do once we get a job. Like what kind of coding will i have to do in my line of work?
Lets say as a software engineer, what sort of coding will i get in c or c++? or at any other job post after doing B.Tech, what kind of work will i get?

This is a very open-ended question. You can write programs to accomplish many different things, from creating software to controlling hardware. It depends on how you want to apply your skills. Programming is a general skill, and the programming language of choice is a tool. Where and how you apply this tool depends on the problem you need/want to solve.

well, if you work for an investment company, chances are you'll be writing code to process transactions of some sort. if you work for an auto manufacturer, you'll possibly be writing engine control software. it depends greatly on what sort of business you work for. there really isn't a catch-all sort of answer. I work for a vending machine company, so I write everything from embedded controller firmware to financial transaction processing to desktop UI code.

That is like saying, "I'll be moving to planet Earth. What language do I need to speak?" The answer depends on where you end up.
Fact - Beethoven wrote his first symphony in C
