    Upgraded to vBulletin 4.1.8

Looks like it's a lot of bug fixes--no new features that I can see. As always, please let me know if you see any problems.

(It may happen only for me..but..) Since yesterday, I've been unable to use the arrow keys to navigate in the Text Editor boxes. (Space, Backspace and Enter are there ...but it makes posting a bit troublesome. )

Do a hard refresh and see if it helps.

I was able to reproduce an issue like this using Firefox 7 and a hard refresh (ctrl-f5) helped.

FWIW... this doesn't seem to be a problem with IE ... at least haven't run into it.

I'm running Firefox 8 and am getting the same cursor issues. A hard refresh did not help in my case. Some details about the behavior I'm seeing:

    • Up and down arrows scroll the whole page.
    • Left and right arrows don't work (they make the cursor disappear). Perhaps they would scroll the whole page left/right if it were too big for my screen.
    • Ctrl+left/right work fine for moving by whole words, as does ctrl+shift+left/right for selecting whole words.
    • Ctrl+backspace does not delete whole words or do anything at all, AFAICT.

Manasij, can you confirm same/different behavior?

BTW, I did not notice any issues in Chrome.

I can confirm that none of these symptoms appear for me.
I am also running Firefox 8.

Well, I did like 4 or 5 hard refreshes before I wrote my last post, to no avail. Then, I closed my browser, put the computer to sleep and did some chores for an hour or so. Now it works. Maybe a browser restart will work for you Manasij?

Well it sometimes works.. but very rarely. (..and I believe that my browser was restarted quite a few times in the past 50 hours or so.)
(Try 5 mins later on some random post.. and it seems to me that it is guaranteed that it'll stop working again . )

P.S: I've set my browser to block Facebook Connect and Google Analytics. (It may be the reason...)

No problems here with firefox 7.0.1, I don't disable anything except popup windows.

However, I do have autoscrolling disabled which is not the default because it has given me various problems before:
    Preferences->Advanced, under "Browsing".

Altho turning it back on doesn't seem to have changed anything right now.

What about the tickbox about being tracked ..under the "Privacy" tab? (I do it with extensions... but should be the same thing) Btw.. strangely.. this thread doesn't seem to be affected ! ..but all other "Quick Reply" boxes are.

Yep, you're right, it doesn't always work, though it seems to work in this thread.

As do I, via NoScript. I noticed a new one just now, googletagservices.com. Never heard of it before. Any idea what it does webmaster?

    Tracking doesn't bother me.

Have you tried disabling those extensions?

Another thing you could do is install the firebug extension (search add-ons); it's a web-dev debugging tool. Turn it on, switch to "console" view, which by default is disabled. Enable it in the menu via the little triangle in the "Console" tab. Try whatever and see if there are any errors about something being undefined (or any errors at all, they'll be in red). JS scripts get thrown out on error. It's probably not that, but it will only take a few minutes to try.

You aren't bothered by dozens of scripts of this magnitude running every time you visit a page?

Have you tried disabling those extensions?
Yes.. but the same problems remain.... sometimes works..sometimes not.

Err.. All the attribute strings are in red... Is that normal?
