    Question Is stricter legislation the answer?

    Definitely an issue that gets way too little coverage these days. Our judicial system is closer than ever to a real solution, though. About damn time!

    Is there any reason to use tinyURL instead of putting the actual link?

    She was so Blonde, she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "Concentrate."

    When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.

    Because the subjects of the conversation are tiny?

    Anyway, about the lawsuit brought against that four year old: I still do not understand why the lawsuit was not thrown out of court so as to be properly brought against the parents or other guardians of the child who could be held liable for failing to properly supervise the child.

    I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

    yes, parents should be held accountable for their children's actions until they are of age. I have actually heard very little about this case, but I'm sure that whatever happened could have been prevented by proper supervision of the child. proper instruction of the child would also go a long way.

    Obviates the need for mouse hover spoiler alerts.

    Not sure of the verdict, if any yet, but I also suspect that this is a pretty weak leg to stand on. Wooten's invoking precedent on a 19th century case? I hope voters remember (to forget) this guy come election day.

    Well in the USA you also have teenagers who are tried as adults for creating child porn by taking pictures of themselves. Charged as an adult for a crime on their own child-self? None of it makes any sense at all anymore. No use trying to fix these things one by one, the whole culture needs a three finger salute.
    Code:
    //try
    //{
    	if (a) do { f( b); } while(1);
    	else   do { f(!b); } while(1);
    //}
