Can't find an old "Make" article.

Hey, I was looking for an article "why use 'make'". I am an subscriber so I found one that way. But, now I need to read it again, but didn't find it.

The article use about, why use a build system and what extra efforts we need to put forth without one of those. Then used make to reduce the workload.

Is it possible to post the link to that old article?

    Thanks in advance.

Unless this article is/was pretty popular, you're probably out of luck, as no one here is likely to recognize it, sorry.

I also tried with some searching here. But, couldn't find it.

It had a very nice theory about what's the need of a make/cmake (build system). They first tried compiling some files c/cpp files without build tool and then with build tool.

guess, I'm out of luck then.
