    Upgraded to vBulletin 4.1.6

This upgrade is supposed to be an improvement to the mobile style. I've also made a couple of back-end tweaks to how JS files are served that might improve the mobile user experience a little bit.

(I fixed the favicon this time too!)

Please let me know if you run into any problems.

The user avatars are gone!* As a semi-literate type and lover of shiny objects, these are important to me.

    * well, mine is still there, even if I log out. Which would be a bizarre glitch if it's not relative.

[okay, only the .gif avatars are present, the others have img alt text. tee-hee.]

Not sure how I missed the broken avatars! Even mine was missing [I have no idea how yours escaped the carnage.]

Anyway, I just re-built the avatar thumbnail cache, and it looks like the avatars are back to normal. If anyone still has a problem with their avatar, please let me know.

Yeah, I have to put everything by hand.

EDIT: Whining about it doesn't make me lazy, does it?

Feature Request: Can we get a modification that searches every new post for the phrase "Turbo-C" or "conio.h" and redirects them to another forum?

The avatars are too small. Can't you make them a little larger? ( Like the profile picture )

    Toolbars train-wreck.
    *downs tools and walks off*
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

I'm looking into the toolbar issue now.

Regarding larger profile pictures--do others also want this? I'm hesitant to dramatically change the size of this unless there's general demand for it.

Regarding two updates in one week: I'd been holding off on the 4.1.5 migration for a while, and it just happened that 4.1.6 came out soon after. The updates for 4.1.6 are all *supposed* to be improvements to the mobile UI, which really needed it.

Guys, let's not turn this thread into a general debate on update philosophies. I want to be able to use it to keep track of real issues. I've split off the upgrade debate into its own thread, here: Software upgrades: good or bad?

Y' know what... I'm going to stop posting in this part of the Forum altogether... People here are so deadpan serious it's sickening...

I'm sorry, I had no intention of turning this into some stupid debate about old adages... Offending posts removed.

Okay, the toolbars are back! I finally figured it out after discovering this thread: WYSIWYG Editor Disapeared - vBulletin.org Forum

In short, I had "misconfigured" it so that older mobile browsers that couldn't use the default theme would have the normal style by default. Apparently the vBulletin 4.1.6 update used this setting to determine if a given theme should have toolbars. In particular, the theme for the older mobile browsers shouldn't have toolbars. So by setting the normal style to be the default for older mobile browsers, vBulletin decided the normal style shouldn't have toolbars. Previously, it didn't do this, so there was no impact of having this misconfiguration.

Good lord... I don't envy you the problem of sorting that one out...

    I see toolbars! Thanks.
