btw.... Did you try compiling a program using glut(&&OpenGL) from the command line to see if you've got the correct and complete library ?
This I did not. But I wouldn't know how to, really. lol.

Haha, yeah, I haven't got a problem with that, but it bugged me when developing online applications. IE was far more forgiving than Opera or Firefox, but lacked the proper support for HTML, Javascript and CSS. As a result, when testing a website in Opera, it would come out differently in IE. Especially when advertising in compatability and accessibility, it is annoying to find IE doing other things than expected. I can live with it, though. As a matter of fact, I'm a Windows user myself. I've tried other Os's, but found none of them as practical as Windows. I've used Linux only for server software, where I find this to be the best (cheapest, too) environment.

It's just a matter of what you are looking for, of course.


If you are just now starting the learning curve, I would suggest you don't try extending or modifying the installation...
I came to that same conclusion. :-)
