The inflation adjustment argument could be a good excuse if we didn't remember the difference in size between the gaming market 20 years ago and today.

The game can be downloaded from their website and installed on multiple computers legally.
I believe the only restriction is you can't login (ie. play, since single player requires you to login, too) from more than one place at the same time.
So if you have a few siblings or friends that just want to try the game out, and won't be playing more than a few hours a day, that may be a good money saving option.
I am doing that with my brother.
I'm still waiting on Diablo 3 as well. After D2, wow keeps my gaming hobby busy enough until then.
