    Super Mario Galaxy 2

Comes out today! May 23rd. It's getting such stellar reviews.
It's the 3rd highest rated game of all time according to
Gamerankings, though that might change when more reviews
    are added.

Reviews and News Articles - GameRankings

Right below Super Mario Galaxy 1. I'm going to pick it up
tomorrow. It's already my favorite game ever.

Anybody who doesn't have a Wii, go buy one right now. For
$199 you can get a black Wii with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort
and the Motion+ attachment. This game alone will justify the
    purchase.

    Peace

I wish I lived in the US. That looks more than spectacular. I love Nintendo. They are one of the best game companies IMO.

I really didn't like the first one so I doubt I'll be getting it. The multi-play on it was horrid. Who wants to sit and shoot stars or what have you while the other player gets to have all the fun?

I agree. It's not a multiplayer game. But it's fun anyways...

Thirded. Wii is supposed to be all about group activity.

Um, no it isn't. It's supposed to be about fun. SMG
was never intended as a multiplayer game. It was
never marketed as such, either. The multiplayer
aspect was just something thrown in there for little
kids to do while daddy was playing. It should have
absolutely no impact on determining the game's worth.

The world is ruined. Ruined I tell you, when a game like Super Mario Galaxy 2 gets such high reviews. Or maybe...

Maybe Nintendo games suck so much that the only better ones end up getting such high reviews? That or ethic owns gamerankings.com.

I don't understand either way. When "You are a space marine and you need to save earth in highly detailed 3D and innovative gameplay" no longer is a synonym of Smash Hit, the world is gone bananas.

Shortly thereafter, Mario's archnemesis Bowser, who has grown to an immense size, invades and attacks the Mushroom Kingdom. Kidnapping the princess, Bowser escapes into outer space to create his empire at the center of the universe again. Mario is given control of Starship Mario, a mobile planetoid in the shape of his head, made by a crafty Luma mechanic called Lubba and piloted by other Lumas; his mission is to fly across the universe in pursuit of Bowser and the Princess and to help Lubba find the lost Lumas that were part of Bowser's plot

I swear you must work for Nintendo. You can't even logically debate about any of their games without resorting to immature fanboy phrases.

Man, I wish I worked for Nintendo. I'd love to work for an
organization that's making the world a better place.

Sure I can. It's just none of the criticisms I hear are logical.
When you use the co-star mode of Super Mario Galaxy as
a criticism against what is obviously a single-player game,
it just comes of as grasping at straws to satisfy your own
    bias.

Maybe I'm a Nintendo Fanboy (I am); but you, sir, are a
Nintendo Hater! And it's for no other reason than because
they chose to go another route with gaming than a bump
in graphics. We both have our biases; you're far from
objective, m'man. I, however, am completely upfront and
    honest about my disposition.

Everybody else on this board tries too hard to be Spock.
You are not and never will be Spock, guys! Time to let
the fantasy go! It's okay to experience emotion, fellas.
    Logic isn't everything.

Hmm... you question we aren't "completely upfront and honest" about our dislike or likes in games? That we say we don't like games we actually like, or like games we actually don't?

    Weird.

The world is already ruined because it's dominated by FPS games, the worst games to possibly exist. And to think you hear people talk about them IRL and they get good reviews... the world is definitely ruined.
On a more serious note, each review site has a bias. Don't believe them. They like SMG because it's a game that appeals to them. But that doesn't mean it appeals to everyone.
In other words, pay no heed to review sites. They're biased, and unless your biased is the same as theirs on a particular game, you simply cannot take their word for anything.

I am looking forward to getting the game myself. I liked the first game a lot and went as far as getting all the stars. I am hoping to do the same with this one.
