Linux is a commie terrorist attack ... or something

I just have to share, this is funny:
STR â€.. THE FREEDOM BLOG© » Linux: A European threat to our computers
I don't know whether to say "good one" or "what the heck" - is this a joke or for real?
Even if this is a joke, I think a couple of those comments are actually serious!

EDIT: Yeeaah, I'm really thinking it's a just a joke.

    Yes, it's a parody.

However, you should still use an American operating system like Windows or BSD.
I copied it from the last program in which I passed a parameter, which would have been pre-1989 I guess. - esbo

Suprisingly reading some of the comments many people thought it was serious.

OS are no small thing. People complain about windows, complain about linux. I also complain about windows everytime the do something weird. But that is another story. Both are really brilliant softare, no matter how much ppl complain.

At first I thought it was also a rip-off of an earlier parody, and not even half as funny as the original. Then after looking around a bit I am pretty sure it is the same person, just she has updated her article for the Obama era, and is maybe trying to sound more serious. She used to be really funny, now she's just boring and lame, but maybe that "fools" more people (what a goal...)

Anyway, debian, Redhat and GNU are American companies. I think ubuntu is from Micronesia somewhere.

ROFLMAO, my favorite passage was this one -

If you see a company using Linux, it may be that they have not paid for this software. Report them to the Business Software Alliance who have the legal authority to inspect any company’s computers for illegal programs like Linux.

My wife actually considers open source advocates a bunch of communists.

I try to dissuade her. But she's so cute when she's ranting.

The word Ubuntu and Mark Shuttleworth are both South African, however Canonical Ltd. is primarily based in the UK / Isle of Man. It's pretty well distributed around the world however.

    (Yay for South Africans!)

So you are trying to say South Africa is not in Micronesia now?

Was South Africa ever in Micronesia? I admit that my geography is really bad, but I hope my Web searching skills are a little better, and they tell me that South Africa was never in Micronesia, whether the state or the region.

They don't know what they are talking about -- South Africa IS in Micronesia, whether you or anybody else wants to believe the truth here or not.

I decided to ditch online sources for my World Book encyclopedia, whose Micronesia article refers to the Pacific Islands article, which claims that:
Micronesia means tiny islands. These islands lie north of Melanesia, and most of them also lie north of the equator. More than 2,000 islands make up Micronesia. Most of them are low-lying coral islands. Micronesia includes Guam, the Caroline Islands, the Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Gilbert Islands, and the single island of Nauru.
The map provided does not include South Africa. Unless I missed something, the entry on South Africa makes no mention of Micronesia. Consequently, I conclude that this encyclopedia corroborates the online sources that I have read, contradicting your own claim.

At this point, I think that the burden of proof is on you to show that "South Africa IS in Micronesia".

I don't have to refute your pinko-leftist sources -- God will take care of that.

Other right thinking people will recognize that South Africa is perfectly described as a tiny "low-lying coral island" near the Pacific Ocean.
