A country who employs the characters å, ä and ö. You're right. It's the first.

Yeah, we speak swedish, not norweighian
I can't make heads or tails out of that stupid language. And people say it's so similar, plus that they tend to bring in some people to speak norweighian instead of swedish :|
Please... just speak swedish or english >_<
It's the same with derivatives of Latin. They all sound similar and have similar syntax, but that doesn't mean a Frenchman can speak Italian or a Spaniard can speak Portuguese. I guess a better example would be German and English. Half the words are pronounced the same (if you speak Germanic English that is).
Well, on the other hand, Danes and Norwegians understand eachother perfectly, while none of us understand even a little bit of swedish, ever crossed your mind that Swedish is the black sheep of the bunch?
Income tax here is 49% for low-income group, and goes up to 62% for the wealthiest. Also, an even higher millionaire tax has been proposed in the parliament, for everyone with more than a million in yearly wages.
So, Denmark has the highest tax pressure of any country, yet we have one of the highest standards of living in the world, coincidence?

Yo, Denmark is great that way. When you cross the border from Germany, the traffic changes from being (surprise) brand new big shiny "road sedans" to, like, rusted old VW's and such. My uncle had a BMW 5 series more than a decade old, all dinged up and with some paint peeling, and people felt it was an extravagant ride.
However, having a brand new big shiny road sedan is probably not a significant indicator for "quality of life" measurements, whereas minimum wage is, which I think it is (the equivalent of) $10-15 hour in Denmark? Spreading the wealth around evidently does not cause the sky to fall.
I heard recently they are further restricting traffic in Copenhagen, like closing one of the bridges into downtown to car traffic -- just bikes and pedestrians! Yay! I can't wait to go back sometime.

You win some, you lose some. Shiny cars really doesn't matter much IMHO. The VAT on a normal 4 door car is 180% here.
The minimum wage for anyone above 18 is 98DKK i believe, which is 18.79 US dollars at the moment. However, having a brand new big shiny road sedan is probably not a significant indicator for "quality of life" measurements, whereas minimum wage is, which I think it is (the equivalent of) $10-15 hour in Denmark? They closed Nørrebro main street for ordinary traffic, it is a "bus/bike only" street now.I heard recently they are further restricting traffic in Copenhagen, like closing one of the bridges into downtown to car traffic -- just bikes and pedestrians! Yay! I can't wait to go back sometime.
Actually, it's a "piem", whether or not Niels Bohr came up with it, i don't know.@Neo1: Is that a Nils Bohr quote in your sig
