    Early Christmas Present - Ubertube2

For those of you who remember Ubertube, recently I rewrote it from scratch. Its less buggy, and the gameplay is rather different (you jump instead of bouncing, its 3rd person, etc.).

Its written in C++ using SDL/OpenGL. You can download the EXEs and source code at
    http://ubertube.tevlog.com/

I hope you enjoy it, and all comments and critism to both the gameplay and the code are welcome.

    Awesome game!
I haven't found anything strange so far, this game is really cool.
    *Playing some more*
    (Yay! I'm no1 on the highscore! 800618 points )

EDIT: One strange thing: don't make the text spin so fast - it's unreadable :/

Thanks. Wow, you pick up fast. I saw "Daniel" at the top of the list (my name too), and thought I had a high score for a minute. As a rule of thumb, I'm not good enough at my own games to do that though. I'll put the spinning text on the TODO list, and thanks for playing.

I seem to only be able to press 2 keys at the same time, might this because of my keyboard?

And I'm not good on my own games too

EDIT: Try to be a bit insane, and jump a lot. That works for me

I'm having no issues with the two keys problem, on both a PS/2 and USB keyboard. It might be you, or else some obscure bug in my game. I'll work on fixing exiting where it isn't, and add a music toggle option. Expect this in a few days tho.

If you just hold up and keep pressing jump you are almost invincible as you get going really fast and are able to fly over most of the jumps. You can clear a level in a couple of seconds without dying that way. Eventually you hit a bad spot and die but you can just start doing this again once you respawn. I'd put a cap on the speed (though maybe there already is one and I couldn't tell) or come up with some way that this can't happen.

I got into the #2 high score slot using this technique on my second time into the game with 816452 points (I was on my last life, went suicidal, and instead of dying right away like I thought I was going to I made it through like 5 levels in 30 seconds).

I'm forcing a download of a new version. It has a few small fixes:
    1. THE REASON ITS FORCED - Before, names with spaces would fail to appear on the score list, silently. Now, spaces are substituted with hyphens. Its the lazy solution, but its better than before.
    2. You can mute the music by pressing 'm'
    3. You can exit, on the enter your name screen.

Just goto the website and download

Did you make the music yourself? If it is your own then really nice work. Might I suggest that some Dragonforce would make it even more thrilling?

It is My Spirit Will Go On...not SOUL!

And the thing that would really go with the game is Through Fire And Flames, with the huge solo. Even better if you put in a Keytar solo using the nipples. (Oh yes that is what you get if yoyu see them live). Operation Ground and Pound would work aswell.

But the moral of the story is: Use Dragonforce for your game.

What's wrong with some Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata), huh? Nobody play Earthworm Jim on the sega? Does the new version just merely mute the music, or does it stop it altogether?

Also, a pause feature would not go amiss! I really had to pee during a recent game and couldn't bring myself to just die ... ended up having to die though. Felt so guilty still do I guess. Necessity is the mother of all creation. Either pause or toilet-chair. Your choice.

It would be cool if you could just download upgrades for the game. Lots of 10 MB downloads would not really encourage me to update regularly. I'm rather impatient. What's the realistic upper limit on the highest score?
