    Book comparison

I am going to get either Beginning DirectX by wendy jones or Ultimate game programming with DirectX, game development ser....

But which 1 to get... not quite sure... because i have heard that Beginning DirectX is a realy good book for starters, but Ultimate Game programming with DirectX is a bit newer....

I appreciate all of the advice given. (If there is any given)

Have you read any sample chapters, that is always a good way to go. Also read reviews on the Ultimate Book as newer is always better.

Hey didn't we just recommend Introduction to 3D Game Programming With DirectX9?

Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else.
