    I need YOUR help!

Hello, Some of you might already know, some of you may not. I'm working on a project, it's called "aurora". It consists on building a static library for use with Microsoft Visual C++ 6 powered by DirectX, that's where YOU come in! I can't do it by myself, no one can do a project like that on his/her own, not even you. so I need your help with the project. I need TWO people, no more, no less. the first one must be very interested in graphics and wanting to learn DirectDraw and Direct3D immediate mode. The other one must be interested in sound and wanting to learn DirectSound and DirectSound3D. Both must be very fluent in C++.

if you want more information about this project, you can go to

I'm offring you the possibility of working with a serious group of people where you actually make the difference because it's a 5 people project! You can learn DirectX with the support of the other members of the team, because, if you want to learn DirectX on your own (like I was until I came up with the idea of doing it with the help of some special people), it's possible that you will take more time on it and there are going to be a lot of questions you must keep to yourself.

I'm sure this is going to be an unforgettable experience for you, and when we finish it, there is a wide range of larger projects we can work on using the library, such as games, 3D demos or 3D presentations.

At least check the site out and tell me what you think about the project, it won't take up much time and I'm sure you will at least consider it.

Thank you very much for your attention

    Oskilian

Well, unless I'm mistaken, as of DirectX 8, there is no longer a Direct Draw, but rather only Direct3D (sorta like OpenGL). If you would like a really nice wrapper lib for DirectX/OpenGL that can also be compiled on several platforms, Allegro fills these shoes. You're right, it took a lot more than one person to make. Allegro has thousands of supporters and is going on to a new version. Maybe you should check it out and see if it fits your needs. http://sourceforge.net/projects/alleg/ or http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/

I have made a graphical installer for Dev-C++ Allegro at my site (see my sig).

    Good luck!

Yep, fresh out, some of their site isn't updated yet. I'm updating my installer either today or tomorrow. Very nice lib. Use to pay big bucks for that kind of crossplatform, easy to use system. Plus it is easy to tie into another system like OpenGL or the MP3 plugin, etc.. really worth looking in to.
