That does look pretty interesting. The demo's they show seem to use as if it were a normal mouse or joystick, but I can think of numerous ways that glove can make a game amazing!
ell yeah!!! I'm thinking about adapting it to your other hand and your legs and using in marial arts games.

didn't they have somthing like that for the Sega saturn at some point?
DW
well first glove I remember was for the nintendo
the power glove
That's would be great, but it didn't seem responsive enough to handle that. I was thinking more along the lines of something slow, like an RTS such as Black and White. It would also make using force powers and light sabers in a Star Wars game pretty fun.Originally Posted by caroundw5h
Oh yeah, 2D platformers would be awesome with this
Thats acatually the technology behind it. Saw it on Daily planet on discovery!! remeber that thing??Originally Posted by Thantos

this glove looks pretty cool. but i'm btting the power supply must short out pretty quickly
most likely it draws the power through the usb port like the power glove drew power from the nes console
This won't work. Several companies have tried to change the orthodox method by which we play our games. It seems that down deep....we still want to use our joystick, mouse, and keyboard to play the game. Anything else just doesn't feel right....and as such none of these endeavours have ever sold well or made it beyond the first year of production.
Probably what will work are VR headsets which allow you to look left by moving your head left, etc. As games increase in complexity and speed, especially flight sims, being able to turn your head to look for bogies becomes key to survival. The old hat and the mouse just don't do it right.
I would have to disagree with you bubba, to a degree. Most of the games as of yet would be awkward. It's doubtful that it is responsive enough for fighting games, like caroundw5h suggested. But I think it would be great for strategy games. I'd rather pick up and move my building than click and drag with a mouse, or point out where I want my troops to go. I also think it would be easier for the player to handle analog input if the game uses it (for the button's of course). The game would basicly have to be designed to use the glove, since it's recognized as nothing but a joystick.
Has anyone else checked out the SDK? There's not a whole lot to it. I don't know if you'll guys see that as totally awesome, or disgusting. I see it as a bit of both.

Which is why this stuff wont last. It requires special software or drivers. Now if its compatible with DX then that will be overcome.
However the track records for these types of products is simply not a good one. Why didn't DVD's technology take off on the computer and replace the CD-ROM???
Dunno, just one of those things. Some tech works and works like a charm...and some just dies.
