    plain pong

Hey! Check out the improvements I have made on my pong clone. The improvements are mostly on the interface and not the game itself.

    http://www.geocities.com/lambs_04/plainpong.htm

There you can find the download link and a screenshot of it.

In Plain Pong you can customize the colors of the ball, paddles, and background. You also can load a custom audio file for music. Wavs and midis are only supported. It uses C and the Windows API and Fmod for sound and music. The physics and the computer AI still need some major fixing.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

My only suggestions are to make the default colors a bit easier on the eyes.. and to finish that icon. Otherwise, great job.

No, its because I erased it and rest of my other projects. That is because my says father for me to learn programming is a waste of time. Then again this is from someone that thinks I shouldn't have friends or a social life for that matter. Shows how joyful my life is doesn't it?

A waste of time? Ask him if making about $50k (this is just a guess since I'm not sure what the average is) is a waste of time. Then ask him how much he makes.

My advice to you is to never erase your projects. Tim Sweeney (Epic Games aka Unreal) wrote his first computer game in college and made about $50,000 from it. Should I mention it was console-based and DOS.

First off, give your dad the bird and tell him to ........ off and keep programming, because most likely, Programming makes hella more money than your dad has ever dreamed of. Second, just because someone says something is stupid and you shouldn't do it, doesn't mean they are right. Tell them to ........ off! It is your life, not anyone elses. If you wanna learn programming and become rich, then do it. Who cares what other people think.

Telling his Dad to, as you put it, "........ off" is not the best idea. In the end it may just make his Dad like programming even less. A better thing to do would be to tell him why he is interested in it and why it is not a waste of time in a polite manner. Plus it may also gain him some respect if he can do it that way.

Perhaps not. Doctors make a fair amount of money too, and so do lawyers, dentists and orthodontists.

    Actually
doctors and lawyers dont make as much unless they have a good job somewhere the insurance costs doctors the most and lawyers depending on if they are high up in a firm or summthing dont always get good cases that make alot of money. 50k is a bit high to start at prolly around 35k - 50k max thats with a BS degree in CIS or so I hear my EET BS will prolly only grab me around 35k - 45k starting.

Neither do programmers, and that is becoming a larger problem as software development is outsourced to India etc.

And theres at least one family doctor I've heard of who charged my aunt $200 american for a 5-minute visit, and has a half-hour lineup in their waiting room. That's approx. $2400 an hour
