Where Can I Find The Source Code For Wolfenstein or Quake 3?

I just want to get the source code and tinker around with a real game like one of those to see just how they were made and such.

Anyone know a link to one of these?

If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    www.idsoftware.com

note that you only get the game source, the engine source for quake3 has not been released yet. However, you can download the full quake2 engine source to see how an engine is made

    Good luck

    EDIT:
I haven't been able to run the quake2 engine using the source code because I dont have a cd, however if you just take out the assembly files for the original quake engine you can actually fiddle with that. I've re programmed the bots with that and done some neat stuff.

rtcw and wolfenstein enemy territory have their source released, or are you looking for wolf 3d?
