Tigs, don't lie. Thats the TA engine, isn't it? Yup, same types of units, terrain, textures, map, resources. I've played it. Take credit for it. Just don't let Cavedog see it... they'll sue.

Huh? If you actually PLAY it, you'll notice it's definitely NOT the TA engine... I didn't make it in C++ anyway, one of those multimedia build-it-all-together programs, so it's a bit crappy and slow.
Someone else did the graphics for me.

Someone did the graphics for you? You mean somebody else did the actual coding or just the pretty pictures? What I mean is, did you use DirectX/OpenGL/Allegro/SDL/GDI/BGI/something else?
Just Google It. √

Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Multimedia fusion, the next version of The Games Factory. It's not bad, but not too flexible. You can write additional objects for it in C++, which I have done, to make life a little easier.
Someone else drew the pictures, the program takes care of graphics rendering for you. You still have to program the rest of the game entirely yourself though.

I really enjoyed KnP and GF... well, until I realized you can do sooo much more in a real language like C/C++ .
Also, GF usually crashed (totally destroying my game) when the game grew larger .

yea, but remake the graphics.... im sure you can do it.

Heh, didn't notice the "multimedia do-it-all" I remember those, I used to try making stuff with KnP but it didn't work out too good...

The technology in those multimedia programs is advancing fast, you can do some pretty amazing stuff quickly in them these days. However, at the end of the day, a programming language offers ultimate flexibity and power...
I like the multimedia programs though (at least till I learn C++ properly), no head hurting with windows API code

yep, I got a design for a game maker in my "future ideas" notebook. Man I love that notebook. Whenever I come up with an idea for a program, I make a simple design for it (about 1 to 3 pages long) then stick it in a notebook. Whenever I need a new project, I just pull something out of there. But anywayz, it's going to use DX and is going to be set up for RPGs. But you can make just about any tile-based game with it. I am most certainly going to have a scripting language and a GUI built in, and capabilities to add plugins to the game maker. But I need to get a good grasp of DX b4 doing that. I am just now starting DX.
I'm trying to find some screenshots. I had some on my old HD, but with my new installation of XP, I can't access my old My Documents folder, because it was restricted to one user.

My tetris clone, I hate the art (if anybody feels like donating some time i'd be thankful ) The blocks become "infected" by a virus. In this shot I have the spread speed pretty far up and the Virus is overwhelming the player. Not much, I just felt like posting a screenshot.
edit: switched png to jpg, png was massive

I like the Matrix style backround.

Just thought I'd post a link:

Say, that wouldn't be your site by any chance, would it?

no, I'm too cheap to have a domain name . I am working on a game programming site though. I'll post the link when I'm ready. So far, I just got a tutorial on Win32 API basics.
