mimic directx

    mimic directx

    this is just a question.

    If i use my own lowlevel efficient functions within windows environment and skip GDI functions, then ,wouldn,t my program run as fast as a directx API developed programms?

    in effect create my own API environment,
    can it be done and has anybody tried it?

    your so called api would have to access the video hardware to run at any reasonable speed.
