    booky booky

    i've dicided to buy a book to get me started. but what would be a good book for someone wanting to start game programming in visual c++. i know quite a bit of c++ but nothing about graphics.

    "Tricks of the windows game programming gurus" by André Lamothe is great!

    but it only covers Dx6.1, and DX9 is almost Beta....

    Am just getting to grips with windows programming and directX myself, using VC++ and I have started reading

    "Windows Game Programming For Dummies", also by Andre LaMothe.

    It seems pretty good, tells you the things you need to know, without all the crap. Tis a bit old though (1998).
