Direct x, open gl, but wait....what if...whoa, read this!

Alright. I was wondering if anyone knows what language Instant Messenger was written in. What I'm getting at is this: I want to find the file that checks if the program is running, and if it is, then it won't open a new window , it opens the one already running. See, I want to be able to find that file, and change it so that I can open multiple windows of Instant Messenger, and be logged on as different people at the same time. I know you can go to the website and use AIM Express, but I don't want to do it that way. Could someone please help me?

    yes, yes...

I have Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. But listen to this: which file do i use to do what i want to do? See, if you have ever played tribes 2, to make mods you have to unzip files from a .vL2 file to be able to edit them and make mods. I'm wondering if its some weird thing like this for instant messenger. there are .ocm files. I dont know what those are. Any help is appreciated.
