Exclamation Direct X had already installed !

    Hi, all~

these days I was busying in seeking somewhat graphic library for making games and suddenly found Direct X for NT had installed in my machine already~

Since I have that library, the next question is : how could I invoke its contents ? for example to pop up a simple window ?

    thanx in advance~

Cheak the file size, if it is around 500mb then it's the sdk, a much smaller file would mean you
    a. Just the runtimes
    b. Only downloaded a section of the SDK

Yep, you need to download the DirectX SDK files.

Here is a link to the 8.1b SDK
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/...mpositedoc.xml

If you are dealing with strictly 2D I suggest you get the DirectX 7 SDK. It's somewhere in the Archives.

I really don't know that many tutorial sites. Here are many that I see getting kicked around the forums though. You also might try a search to find more.

OpenGL (might be useful ? )

Here's where I put in my plug for another library. SDL. You'll notice it's a much smaller download.
It's much easier to jump into than DirectX is, thus might not be a bad way to start.
    Just a suggestion.
