    Between the two you listed I believe DirectX, for a 2D game, would be easier. Download the DirectX 7 SDK and play with DirectDraw. If you want tutorials just do a search on this board and you while finds tons of links. Enjoy.

    Which API is easier is just a matter of choice. I personally believe GL is easier to learn. But for a 2D game id probally use DX (only if you use a version of the SDK < 8.0)
