Have you seen that tanks game where you blow up barrels? It was originally done in ascii like your game and then xlated to a 10,000 line 3-d directx game. The directx version sucked.
Yeah it's not everything in graphics. It's the gameplay that counts.

You should reduce the flickering in a menu and in a game and one more thing, FINISH the game.
