    OpenGL and Windows

    I have been using NeHe's OpenGL tutorial. I took some code and compiled it and it compiled fine on my C compiler, LCC-WIN32. When I run the executable, though, it crashes. It seems to be at the auxDIBImageLoad(FileName) function. Does anyone have a function that I can use instead of this one. Here is the code that I compiled in case you need to see that:
    Code:
    #include <windows.h>		// Header File For Windows
    #include <stdio.h>			// Header File For Standard Input/Output
    #include <gl\gl.h>			// Header File For The OpenGL32 Library
    #include <gl\glu.h>			// Header File For The GLu32 Library
    #include <gl\glaux.h> // Header File For The Glaux Library

    HDC hDC=NULL; // Private GDI Device Context

    in the LoadBMP()

    Code:
    if (File)// Does The File Exist?
    {
    fclose(File);// Close The Handle
    return auxDIBImageLoad(Filename);// Load The BitauxDIBImageLoadmap And Return A Pointer
    }
    you close the file before () is allowed to load it.

    try something like this

    Code:
    AUX_RGBImageRec *LoadBMP(char *Filename)// Loads A Bitmap Image
    {
        FILE *File=NULL;// File Handle
        AUX_RGBImageRec* dib = NULL;

        if (!Filename)// Make Sure A Filename Was Given
        {
            return NULL;// If Not Return NULL
        }

        File=fopen(Filename,"r");// Check To See If The File Exists

        if (File)// Does The File Exist?
        {
            dib = auxDIBImageLoad(Filename);// Load The Bitmap And Return A Pointer
            fclose(File);// Close The Handle
            return dib;
        }

        return NULL;// If Load Failed Return NULL
    }

    Thanks no-one for your reply. I tried the function that you suggested, but it still crashes at the same line. It still crashes at dib = auxDIBImageLoad(Filename);. I get an Windows error saying it has generated errors and will need to be restarted. Does anyone have any other reason why this is not working?

    Generally, when you have a problem with NeHe's code, you'd better post at NeHe's forum at www.gamedev.net

    It's more likely that you'll receive a response there.

    >if (TextureImage[0]=LoadBMP("Data/NeHe.bmp"))

    the only other problem that stands out is

    "Data/NeHe.bmp"

    it's not a valid filename.
