I'm a programming newbie with quite a lot of experience in DOS based programs and some basic Windows based stuff using VC++ 6.0 standard (I also use Borland 5 for the DOS stuff)
What I want to know is where I need to go from now to learn ultimately programming 3d games. I have plenty of time and patience but a fairly low budget. Could you tell me what I need to find tutorials on (the Windows API is still a mystery to me, and I have no Direct X or OpenGL experience)
Also if you could recommend some books or (preferably) some good internet tutorials.
