    My opinion is that JAVA sucks. Beacuse JAVA progs are very slow.
    Current projects:
    1) User Interface Development Kit (C++)
    2) HTML SDK (C++)
    3) Classes (C++)
    4) INI Editor (Delphi)

    LoL, this is a C board, not a Java board! LoL, I hate J++. It kinda sucks. I like Sun's Java better, because it is made by the originals, not some copycat company that thinks they don't have enough products, although one of their guys is one of the richest guys in the world!
    What will people say if they hear that I'm a Jesus freak?
    What will people do if they find that it's true?
    I don't really care if they label me a Jesus freak, there is no disguising the truth!

    > LoL, this is a C board, not a Java board!

    First off, "C#" is no more C than Java is. That is to say, they're both like C. They both have similar syntax. The both share C keywords. They're both equally similar to C. Or close enough. In either case, Java has as much right, if not more, to have a board on 'CProgramming.com' as C# does. The only reason "C#" got a board is because of the first letter in its name. Java is nearly identical to C++ save for the fact that it has an interpreter that will run native code inside of web pages, where as C++ does not.

    They (C++/Java) have similar syntax (VERY similar), similar libraries available to them, similar features. The only reason Java doesn't have a board, in my opinion, is that it doesn't have a 'C' in its name.

    Quzah.
    Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

    Please tell me your kidding

    C# can't be better when it hasn't been proven yet. I think it will do better than J++ did, but I doubt it will fill Java's shoes.

    Java is becomming widely accepted, therefore it has a strong market. I think MS waited way too long to come out with .NET, however it is quite obvious that .NET is superior to any other programming environment, and C# has full interoperability with all the .NET framework class libraries.

    I wouldn't write off Java but personally I am only going to learn Java so that I can be able to refactor those programs to C# or else I might skip Java entirely. Probably not though.

    I would say it's fair to say it is already widely accept T_K. It has had strong market support for the past 3 years, and I don't think that will change overnight. C# and .NET aren't exactly setting the world on fire at the moment, but I guess anything is possible. I don't think C# is a ground-breaking language but it will hopefully lead to more improved OO languages.

    If you knew about .NET you might think that C# was designed to facilitate the .NET framework. It is not a stand alone.

    The .NET framework operates without C# doesn't it? Hence, why I said C# and .NET (one is a language, the other is the framework for that and other languages).

    C# does not operate without .NET! Also C# is the only language that is fully integrated with the .NET framework library, so no they are not exclusive.
