    C# and C#.NET?

Are they the same thing? I am just wondering because I have a school project that allows C# as a language to use, and I have VS.NET. I was thinking about using it, but I was just wanting to make sure they are the same.

C# uses the .NET Framework. There is no C# without .NET though this isn't mentioned explicitly as you don't have the choice as with C++ for example. Only one way to use C#, so yes, it's the same

When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.
