Serial port programming in Linux

Hi. Recently I have a need to program serial port in my application. I want to ask you guys, how do I program serial port in Linux? Are there any tutorials or any other resources that out there? My last experience of serial port programming was 3-4 years ago when I was still in college. Also at that time I programmed it in DOS with Borland Turbo C++.

Thanks
