    CRichEditCtrl problem

whenever i use SetSel and the rich edit has focus.. it will scroll to that selection but when the rich edit doesnt have focus it remains in the old position.. does anybody know why this happens ? and how i can avoid it.. ? it is really annoying.. i want it to always remain to the old position.. maybe theres another way of appending text without using SetSel ?
btw this only happens in rich edit 2.0 (RichEdit20A) and i have no hide selection unchecked, so anyway i could use the rich edit 1.0 but i dont like the hightlight/selection color, does anybody know how to change that color ?

    thanks
