    Can I have your oppionion?

I do not know if any of you have read the debate on the Game Programinb board, but apparently, they reckon C++ is rubbish for game creation and we should be using BASIC and Java.

Personally, I think it is a waste of a thread. I do not want to start any arguments, but I have created sevral small games all in C++ without much hassel.

C++ I have heard is what the Japs use in japan when making Zelda and Final Fantasy ect.. So why would they say C++ is a total waste on game platform?

It is very handy to use, and the OOP side of it is much user friendly than the C language structs -- very handy in game creation I am sure you will agree.

What is your say on the theroy??

I say they are opinionated and entitled to free speach, though its a totaly crazy comment. This is also the wrong section for discussion.
    Code:
Error W8057 C:\\Life.cpp: Invalid number of arguments in function run(Brain *)

How do they respond to the comment that C++ is the Ferrari of the computer world, while Java and BASIC are like VW Bugs?

I'd like to mention that I'm pretty sure "Japs" is not a term that Japanese people like being thrown around.

that question is like asking what is the better computer, apple, amd, pentium..... Or like asking wich is the better mobile phone, sony or nokia?

The fact remains, i dont waste my time, so in my oppinion c++ must be worth it or else i will not be learning it...

I haven't read the thread, but I'm surprised they would say that on a forum dedicated to C/C++. And I doubt Bubba would agree.

To make graphical games in C/C++, you'd use one of the graphical libraries available, like OpenGL or DirectX, or perhaps SDL. Maybe the game creation process is easier in BASIC or Java.

    Which is highly unlikely.

Anyway, C++ being the perfect language for game creation or not, its the most widely used and worth learning.

I think the OP doesn't understand sarcasm when he sees it.
The thread in question started with a question whether anyone was using C++ to write games, which of course warrants the answer that C++ is a useless language for anything except console applications and that real programmers use VB/Java/you name it.
Some readers apparently are taking that discussion seriously
