i just read about them in the C++ book i have and was wondering if they could be used to replace what is typed with an * (like for a password). If not how do i go about doing this?

i wouldnt say im a noob, ive been around a while, i dont have a large knowledge of C++ but i dont consider myself a noob. And yes its my opinion and im entitled to it as are you, im assuming you like the book :) I personally did not, as do some of my fellow board members. But we are all entitled to our opinion. Thanks for the link ill check it out.

...but the book made it to publication so it has to have some good things going for it. Either way I don't really care. Sorry. Hope the link was useful though.
It was thanks! I personally just dont like the layout of the book. It went from simple to complex from week one to two. Like i said i just personally didnt like it. Thanks for your help. :)
