    About WinFX

Well, I'm a little confused right now.

I want to program games, but about learning DirectX...will it be outdated since WinFX is coming out? Will it be that different? What about the Win32 API? Will it be replaced and should I just stick to C++ until that stuff comes out then learn that? Hmm, very confused.

You'll be waiting forever if you're expecting architecture development to slow down or stop so you can get on the train. Here's an idea:- take up plumbing while you're waiting for the next technology. It's a real money-spinner.

Learn C++. Something else comes out (C#). Learn that.
Learn DirectX. Something else comes out (WinFX?). Learn that.

Being a programmer isn't about being a one-trick pony. For many that's a shocking statement (me included ), but it's true.

    Thanks. Love the sarcasm lol.

But seriously I didn't know if the APIs were going to be night and day.

    Is Win32 API still okay?
