I am not sure if anyone knows this, but in some games like the origanal zeldas and dizzy, when you went into a new area, the screen sort of shifted to the next part. It has somthing to do with scrolling I know, but does anyone know a tutorial on that or can anyone give me any advoice on how complex it is? any help appreiciated
I've never done any Game programming, and at this point my best guess is that that they have a huge picture of the background and as you move the character forward or backword the program just moves the background.
Or they have the different parts of the background, like trees, rocks and stuff and have like a script or something that puts it to all together.
