    Extracting System Date and Time

I checked through the FAQ and didn't find a method to retrieve the system date and time. I would like to show these items on a menu formatted as follows:
    i.e. date in MM/DD/YYYY
    time in HH:MM
    Any suggestions?

Look up ctime (or time.h for out of date compilers).
