    Hi I just bought

    MS Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition

    Is this good enough to start off in programming?

    You bet! If you are entittled to the MSDN library, than you got it made for starters.

    That is what I have been using for about 3 years now. It is great, but buying a subscription to MSDN gets expensive later on.

    most people start with something free. so jes, i think it will be good enough for starting off in programming.
