    free c++ compiler?

hey i was wondering if anyone had a link to a free compiler

and i was wondering if c++ compilers work with textpad.. we are using that for java programs in my school so it would be easier to just do everything with the same program

    thanks

http://www.bloodshed.net It is a good free compiler with an okay IDE.
While you're breakin' down my back n'
I been rackin' out my brain
It don't matter how we make it
'Cause it always ends the same
You can push it for more mileage
But your flaps r' wearin' thin
And I could sleep on it 'til mornin'
    But this nightmare never ends
Don't forget to call my lawyers
    With ridiculous demands
An you can take the pity so far
But it's more than I can stand
    'Cause this couchtrip's gettin' older
Tell me how long has it been
    'Cause 5 years is forever
An you haven't grown up yet

none that I know of... unless you want to write it in textpad and copy/paste it or save it as .cpp/.h/etc. and then open it in the compiler...

and Dev C++ (bloodshed) is pretty good... I use it...

With textpad you can add shortcut keys to run any dos command and have it capture the output. I use MinGW (gcc for windows) as my compiler. Unfortunately you can't capture all of it's output with causing an error in windows. It seems it the way that redirection is handled in windows via a calling program, there is an error. I wasn't able to find a workaround online for it to have textpad automatically capture the output. What I've done as a workaround is use redirection on the command line with the > and save the output to a file which I leave open in textpad. Textpad will alert you when any changes are made to the file for you to reload it. I believe also that you can set textpad to not prompt you and automatically reload it after changes.
