Question addressing hardware ports using c++

I am using Borland c++ 5.02 for fetching data using an A/D/A convertor card PCL-208. I was using function inport and outport for transferring data. When I was using these functions with borland c++ 3.1 version (after including dos.h file) my program was running fine. Now I am suppossed to use these finctions with Borland c++ 5.02 version. Though the help file gives these functions but using these functions gives an error. The error says "call to undefined function outportb & call to undefined function inportb.

I am not able to find a solution.

    Help me if you can

I believe that this is a compiler specific problem, so refer to Borland's news groups:

    Thank You for your reply.

I have posted my question in Borland community.

But still if you can find some solution I'll be waiting.

    Thanks once again.

Well if this is running in a win32 environment, you no longer have the capability of accessing ports directly (you need some sort of driver).

How you go about this for your environment is another question.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
