    setprecision not working right..

    ok when i was working with set precision and for a test i did this
    Code:

      float i = 3.1415926538753432798643;
      cout.setf(ios::showpoint);
      cout.setf(ios::fixed);
      cout.precision(20);
      cout <<i;
    and the output was:
    Code:
    3.14159274101257324219
    which is defiently not what i typed in
    any suggestions?

    floating point values are only approximations. Try using a double not a float and see the difference that makes.

    When all else fails, read the instructions.
    If you're posting code, use code tags: [code] /* insert code here */ [/code]
