16 bit true dos i take it and not 32bit console (looks like dos) window.
Most things in dos were done by calling interrupts after setting registers to the correct values. look on the web for ralf browns interrupt list.
u ought to consider getting a better compiler too. You wont learn c++ well using a tool that old.
