Linker error: ___gxx_personality_v0

I have the following code:

Which I am trying to compile with DJGPP and link with ld.
I get the following error:

Undefined reference to '___gxx_personality_v0'.
This is a linker error, not a gpp error, and I don't know why its added what seems like a function to the output file.

Does anyone know what this error means?
