    The ACCU website has very good reviews and recommendations for C++ books.

    Check it out at:

    http://www.accu.org/bookreviews/publ.../0sb/index.htm

    Click on 'advance C++' or 'beginner's C++'.

    I always buy books that are highly recommended by them and stay away from the not recommended ones.

    giggsy.

    Strange how almost all of the best c++ books seem not to get a mention on that site.

    I've heard many people recommend "Effective STL" by Scott Meyers. I'm pretty sure i'm getting it for christmas, too.

    its good but it wont teach you STL more how to use it more effectively once you know it.
