    I've just tried Dev-C++ 4.9.4.1 on Win 2000.
    First I put installed folder (Dev-C++ folder) in root of drive D:\ , I got the same problem likes yours.
    After I tried again, I put installed folder in root of drive C:\, It works fine.
    Re-install again, dont go to sub-folder or program files, put installed folder in only root of C:\.

    I attached a iostream header from VS, can't hurt.
    As far as I know, the file you've attached will do nothing, because it contains definitions, and declarations only, and you should have the library, not the headerfile...
    none...

    Well are you sure you downloaded the installation program that installs the header files also?

    Self-extracting exe should bring full library.
    Just re-install it in root of C:\ per my previous post.
    Please tell me the result, I also want to know if it is ok.

    OK, I reinstalled, and everything seems to work fine. Thanks!
