    Help!

hi all, unfortuantly, i myself, cannot learn this complex language, this is really what i want to do when i get older too, i spend about 3 hours on it each night, and alas i come up empty, ive bought countless books, c ++ for dummies, sims learn c ++ in 24 hours and many more... unforutantly, im getting really frustrated and my teacher is 21 and he doesnt know how to teach, hes a push over, he wont help me after school becuase he teaches other subjects, "more important", hes a math teacher as well.....
he tries really hard, i know he does. but it just isnt really sinking in, if anyone could help me on aim or icq i would be so happy, my icq is 94324203 and my aim handle is gigaflare999.

    thanks

    Tetra

Have you got any programming languages done before this?

Wow, if you've tried that hard, perhaps programming is your kind of thing
I am against the teaching of evolution in schools. I am also against widespread
literacy and the refrigeration of food.

Is there anything that you need help on specifically?

I used Ivor Horton's Beginning Visual C++ (or something like that)when I was starting out. It helped me with some things, though it was lacking in areas. My first programming class used an ok book, but I can't remember the name of it right now, Introduction to Computer Science using C++, I think. They were ok to start with. My programming teacher is also a math teacher as well. But, he does a good job teaching both.

Maybe you should learn a different language first. I'd suggest java (its quite a bit more forgiving), or you could abandon OOP for a while and give C a shot. This would lead up to C++ nicely. Or if you are just having trouble with the basic concepts I'd suggest PASCAL or Visual Basic. I think the drive is there, you just need to take a different route to becoming a C++ programmer.
